White Gumba
White Gumba is located at the northern part of Kathmandu valley, on the top of hill behind Swayambhunath Stupa. It's one of the best destination nearby Kathmandu to escape away from the crowd and noise of valley. With a nice scenery of Kathmandu valley, you can also have stunning view of Mountains, Nagarjuna forest, Shivapuri, Budanilkantha and Sundarijal as well. White gumba also known as Druk Amitabh Mountain, is a point of pilgrimage for the buddhist people. White Gumba is the main attaction of this area. You can also view sunrise and sunset from White gumba beyond the mountains . You can see tibetan culture in white gumba with more than 300 buddhist priest. White gumba is best destination for photography, sightseeing and meditation.

How To Reach
Visitors are allowed to visit White Gumba only on sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. You can start your hiking either from Halchowk or Sitapaila. If you are using public vehicle, you need to walk from junction of w White gumba and Ramkot. Private vehicle can go up to the White gumba but weak power vehicle are not suggested as the road is narrow, steepy and lots of turning but road is well pitched. But hiking with friends or family will be fun rather than using vehicle.

White gumba is 90 minuates walk from Swayambhu chowk uphill most the way. On bike, it will take only 30 minutes either from Hallchowk or Swayambhu chowk. You can park your vehicle at the parking lot which costs only Rs 10. Both Nepali and foreigner are not charged any fees to visit monastery . The monk at the gate will provide you a Pass which you need hang around neck on whole visit and return at gate when you leave. It is compulsory to wear the pass.
