Tilicho Lake Trekking-World Highest Lake

Tilicho Lake Trekking

It is one of the highest lakes in the world at an altitude of almost 5,000 meters located in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas in Manang district of Nepal. Anyone attempting to do the Annapurna Circuit route usually cross these watersheds between Manang and Kali Gandaki valleys above the 5,000 meters high Thorong La pass. Various lodges have been built between Manang and the Lake, but there aren’t any accommodation sites or even teahouses past the Tilicho Base Camp lodge. Tilicho Lake and the trek as a whole is a very revitalizing experience, yet a very demanding and an extremely adventurous terrain, not meant for everyone, only the adventure junkies so-to-say.

This trek starts right from Besisahar, and follows the Marsyangdi River with great views of Manaslu and Him Chuli to the east. This magnificent route leads you through traditional Manangi villages inhabited by friendly, habitual people who always offer a warm welcome amidst the magical, snow capped Himalayas. This route is customized from the Annapurna Circuit route, instead of going north to Tanki Manang and Yak Kharka, we head east, following the Marsyangdi River to the village of Khangshar (Known as The Last Village of Nepal) and trek up to Tilicho lake. The route then joins the Annapurna Circuit trek once more to Thorong La Pass.

How To Reach There?

Day 1: To start Bus Kathmandu-Besisahar via Dumre.
Walk to Bhul Bhule from Besisahar.
Day 2: Walk to Jagat from Bhul Bhule.

Day 3: Walk to Dharapani from Jagat.

You will not be disappointed on this trek, the spectacular views of the majestic Himalayas and the glistening waters of a high altitude lake will keep you regaling your experiences for years to come. Personal Experience

I went to Daman last year to visit. It was the time of spring. It was one of the most beautiful I visited in Nepal. The coniferous forest add beauty to Daman. I went there by bike. The snake like road was fun to ride with less traffic. I went to the top of hill. There was a communication tower. I went there and asked the technician if i can climb up to have a view. They allowed us and the view was like OMG. We stayed at Local Lodge and service was satisfactory. I recommend you to visit Daman if you are planning to visit somewhere
